Interview's Do's and Dont's

 

Having an interview lined up, be ready to give your best.

Do’s
  • Research about the company thoroughly and have a proper idea about your job role
  • Dress appropriately for the interview, be neat and well groomed.
  • Make sure to practice some common interview questions
  • Reach the interview location 10/15 minutes earlier as it makes a good impression
  • Carry photocopy of important documents and your resume as the interviewer may ask for them.
  • While during the interview, listen the questions carefully and make sure to answer clearly and thoughtfully.
  • Express yourself and make sure to express your views clearly and politely.
  • While during the interview, always maintain an eye contact while giving your answers and having a conversation.
  • Approach the interview with full enthusiasm and positivity.
  • Describe your qualities that match the job role, it is important to sell yourself.
  • Stress on your achievements and talents
  • Ask intelligent questions in respect to the job such as about the industry and company.
  • End the interview by asking about next step of the interview process.
Dont’s
  • Don’t be late for the interview; it creates a bad first impression.
  • Don’t rehearse the interview answers so much that you may sound like you are reciting a memory.
  • Don’t dress casually for the interview, you may not be taken too seriously.
  • Don’t arrive stressed for the interview having a weak body language.
  • During the interview don’t be negative about your last job or manager, it shows unprofessionalism.
  • Don’t be too inquisitive about salary package, vacations or bonus. All these things can be discussed later.
  • Avoid being aggressive and bringing controversial subjects.
  • Do not lie about your personal details or last job or falsify things.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if you are not able to understand any question.
  • Don’t answer your phone or check messages during the time of interview.
  • Never say that you don’t have any questions once the interview is finished.
